NBA insider Chris Haynes didn’t think Giannis Antetokounmpo would finish his career with the Milwaukee Bucks even before Damian Lillard tore his Achilles.
Lillard tore his Achilles on Sunday in Game 4 against the Indiana Pacers.
“I don’t think so,” Haynes said on The Dan Patrick Show when he was asked if he thinks Antetokounmpo will finish his career with the Bucks. “This is going to be a pivotal playoff. These 2025 playoffs for the Milwaukee Bucks, it’s going to be pivotal. Iif they don’t get to the Finals, win the Finals, or even make a deep run, you can probably see some wholesale changes going on in Milwaukee.
“You can go from coaching staff, from front office, to the players, like it can be a pretty big, significant wholesale if Milwaukee Bucks don’t make a significant run this postseason.”
The Bucks are down 3-1 to the Pacers, who beat Milwaukee in the first round of the 2024 playoffs.
Antetokounmpo has spent his entire career with the Bucks, who signed the two-time MVP and one-time Finals MVP to a three-year, $175 million extension in October 2023.
The Bucks won the championship in 2021. Since then, they have lost to the Boston Celtics in the second round of the 2022 playoffs, the Miami Heat in the first round of the 2023 playoffs and the Pacers in the first round of the 2024 playoffs.
