NBA insider predicts what Raptors will do as multiple key names linked in trade rumors

There have been few names mentioned across the world of NBA trade rumors over the past year or so and more than a few key Toronto Raptors players. The most talked-about names – and two that will almost certainly heat up as the trade deadline draws near – are forwards Pascal Siakam and O.G. Anunoby. Both players were linked to numerous teams last offseason and even ahead of the 2022-23 NBA trade deadline.

If The Athletic's Shams Charania prediction is correct, the Raptors will have officially made decisions on Siakam, Anunoby and numerous others by this season's trade deadline. While speaking on FanDuel's "Run It Back" show, Charania pointed to the belief that Raptors president Masai Ujiri will make his decision about the plan close to the trade deadline. The NBA insider said that 22-year-old forward Scottie Barnes is "the untouchable" and won't be available in trade talks.

The Raptors find themselves in an interesting position as they currently sit with just a 9-10 record on the season. Every time they appear close to putting together a string of solid wins, they find themselves back in the loss column. Numerous tough calls are coming from Ujiri ahead of the trade deadline, which is set for Thurs., Feb. 8, 2024.
