The Los Angeles Lakers have started to transition the future of the Lakers to be built around Luka Doncic. Now that they have signed him to a contract extension, he is the present and the future of the team.

Some of the moves they have made seem to have irked LeBron James, who has been the central figure in every franchise he's ever been a part of in his 20+ year career.

Trade rumors have swirled around James since he has expressed his displeasure, but an NBA insider paints a rosier picture of how the Lakers and James are operating.

According to Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints, things have been fine in Los Angeles.

"Throughout the offseason, amid trade, buyout, and retirement speculation surrounding the future Hall of Famer, LeBron has been talking with several members of the team's staff. He never once cut off communication with the team, and James is devoted to winning in Los Angeles, sources said."

Siegel also remarks that James continues to be in communication with Doncic and seems perfectly happy in Los Angeles right now.

"As far as his communication with members of the Lakers this summer, including Doncic, James is said to be his “normal, joyful self,” sources said. There haven't been any indications among these conversations between James and team personnel that he is unhappy and wants to leave Los Angeles immediately."

James has not publicly denied any trade rumors, but he loves to be in the spotlight whenever possible. That has been the case since he entered the league back in 2003.

The Lakers have been trying to let everyone know that they won't be moving James under any circumstances. It seems that's not an issue that they have to worry about right now.

James seems happy to be in Los Angeles for at least another year. He can opt out of his contract after next season and become a free agent if he so chooses.

This past season, James averaged 24.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 8.2 assists per game. He shot 51.3 percent and 37.6 percent from beyond the 3-point line.
