Chris Paul had one of his best seasons in the NBA this year. After being traded by the Oklahoma City Thunder, CP3 joined the Phoenix Suns and formed a dynamic duo with Devin Booker. Prior to his arrival, the Suns had a statement run in the Orlando Bubble, going undefeated during their time there. With Paul in their team, the Suns were able to break their poor regular seasons' streak of 10 years and reached the NBA Playoffs for the first time since the days of Steve Nash. Paul elevated the players around him, with both he and Booker becoming All-Stars last season.

The Suns secured the second seed in the Western Conference last season, finishing only behind the Utah Jazz. In the NBA Playoffs, the Suns went on an incredible run, defeating the defending champs Los Angeles Lakers, MVP Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets, and then the Los Angeles Clippers to reach the NBA Finals for the first time since 1993. But despite going up 2-0 in the NBA Finals, the Suns went on to lose four consecutive games to Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks. This was Paul's best chance to win an NBA title. But it appears he isn't giving up on himself or the Suns.

NBA insider John Gambadoro reported that Chris Paul wants to return to the Phoenix Suns next season. And the Suns want to bring him back to. As things stand, the Suns have to wait to talk to Chris Paul until next week, but there is mutual interest in keeping the relationship alive between the two. Suns' GM James Jones has seen the impact CP3 had on the team and will do what is needed to bring him back.

For Suns fans, this will come as great news. Phoenix took a huge leap last season thanks to the arrival of Chris Paul. And while other players on the team showed improved performances, the organization understands that Paul was a big part of that leap. So it makes sense that they want to ensure that they get to keep CP3, especially amidst the interest he is garnering from other teams in the NBA.
