The Houston Rockets star Kevin Durant is no stranger to criticism about his game and legacy. Most of the time, KD himself confronts people, but recently, NBA analysts have stepped forward to support him.

Previously, Stephen A. Smith went all in backing Durant’s stunning opinion on the USA vs. European playing style. Meanwhile, Brian Windhorst recently slammed the biased, double-standard narratives surrounding the 37-year-old veteran. During the latest episode of ESPN’s First Take, Windhorst aimed at the people who discredit Durant’s 2017 ring with the Warriors.

“Nothing gets my backup like when people try to denigrate what he did in the ‘17 finals as if he was riding in the back seat. They don’t win it without him. You know how good those Cavs teams were? 2017 finals LeBron averaged a 34 point triple double! Kyrie averaged 30 in the series. K Love averaged 16 & 12. JR smith shot 58% from 3. It was 4-1 because Durant averaged 35, 8 rebounds and shot like 55%. 2nd thing, he’s the greatest Olympian in the history of basketball,” Windhorst said.

Windhorst believes Durant played a key role in leading the Warriors to the 2017 championship. This opinion matters, as Durant actually had a major impact in the 2017 NBA Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

In Game 1, the forward put up an impressive 38 points, while in Game 3, he nailed the go-ahead 3-pointer with 45.3 seconds left in regulation. Moreover, his 39 points in Game 5 led the Warriors to the series-clinching win.

Durant was the top scorer in every game of the 2017 NBA Finals and, thanks to his unmatched efforts, won the NBA Finals MVP. Windhorst continued his praise of KD, calling him the best Olympian of all time.

After the stellar win against the Sacramento Kings, the Rockets faced the Orlando Magic at the Kia Centre, and it became a big night for Durant. In 40 minutes of his play, the standout forward scored 40 points, three assists, and eight rebounds. Durrant’s stellar performance not only led the Rockets to a 113-108 win but also clinched a historic feat in his professional career.

According to ClutchPoints, Durant, who recently revealed his best teammate , is the only player in NBA history to score 40+ points in a regular-season game for five different teams. KD scored 40 points or more 46 times for the Oklahoma City Thunder, 10 times for the Brooklyn Nets, 7 times for the Phoenix Suns, and 1 time for the Rockets.
