As the offseason approaches, there are a lot of questions about the future of Trae Young with the Atlanta Hawks. In the 2024-25 NBA season, the Hawks missed the playoffs for a second-straight year. With a lack of success, there have been questions about what's next for Young and the organization.

There have been whispers that the star point guard would be traded elsewhere. However, Young hasn't been vocal about his plans. But his post on X during the final weekend of May drew attention from fans.

On Monday, ESPN's Zach Lowe took the time to discuss his thoughts on the Hawks' situation with Young. According to Lowe, both sides should continue their partnership.

The NBA insider discussed Young on his program, "The Zach Lowe Show," and said that he doesn't think there's a market for the four-time All-Star.

“I kind of want the Hawks to keep Trae Young long term. And one of the reasons, I think I one of the reasons, is I don’t think there’s a great market for him. So, I don’t think there’s a trade out there that completely just reorients the franchise in a positive way,” Lowe said.

Lowe also advised the Hawks not to give Young's four-year, $229 million extension, which he's eligible to sign. He suggested that the franchise should offer him a deal that's worth less than what he deserves to help construct a competitive group.

Bobby Marks of ESPN suggested a three-year, $120 million reduced contract. However, Young has been the franchise star for the Hawks since he was drafted in 2018. The one-time All-NBA has stayed with the franchise even though they've struggled recently.
