Sacramento Kings star forward DeMar DeRozan continues to prove he's one of the most productive offensive players in the NBA. DeRozan had a career milestone on Thursday against the New York Knicks. Entering the game, the six-time All-Star needed 22 points to surpass Hall of Famer Kevin Garnett on the all-time scoring list.
In the 2025-26 season, DeRozan is averaging 19.0 points through 40 games. Although points coming from him haven't been the same, there are still nights when he takes over on the offensive side with his ability to generate points.
He entered the game with 26,050 career points at the 21st spot in the all-time scoring list. Garnett, meanwhile, finished his 21-year career with 26,071 points and was at No. 22 on the list.
With 58.8 left in the third quarter, DeRozan shot a 3-pointer for his 22nd point of the night, surpassing the 2004 MVP. Following the special career milestone, the league posted on X to credit the veteran forward.

It was extra special for DeRozan and the Kings as they had a 112-101 win over the Knicks. The three-time All-NBA led all scorers with 27 points, adding six rebounds and five assists. This was just the first meeting between the two teams. Their second and final game against each other will be at Madison Square Garden on January 27.
Sacramento extended its win streak to three games for the first time in the season. They look to add another win to the 11-30 record on Friday against the Atlanta Hawks.
