The Los Angeles Lakers saw superstar LeBron James make his 2025-26 season debut on Tuesday against the Utah Jazz.

James had been sidelined since October due to sciatica, but he was cleared to play and was in the starting lineup.

The Lakers won, 140-126, in Los Angeles, and James scored 11 points with 12 assists and three rebounds in 29 minutes.

Luka Doncic led the way once again with 37 points, 10 assists, and five rebounds, Austin Reaves scored 26 points, and Deandre Ayton added 20 points with 14 rebounds in a well-balanced Lakers attack.

It was an encouraging performance for the Lakers, and Jake LaRavia even added 16 points off the bench in the victory.

He took just seven shots in the game and led the team in assists.

The Lakers star also went 2-of-3 from three-point land, and he moved up the NBA leaderboard in the process.

James is now at No. 6 on the all-time three-pointers list, as the NBA announced on Tuesday.

Here is the current list:

  1. Stephen Curry: 4,116
  2. James Harden: 3,222
  3. Ray Allen: 2,973
  4. Damian Lillard: 2,804
  5. Klay Thompson: 2,729
  6. LeBron James: 2,561
  7. Reggie Miller: 2,560
  8. Kyle Korver: 2,450
  9. Paul George: 2,350
  10. Vince Carter: 2,290

James passed Indiana Pacers legend Reggie Miller, but he still sits almost 200 three-pointers away from Klay Thompson.

The 40-year-old is also 1st in points and 4th in assists, so the superstar continues to climb up the NBA all-time leaderboards.

The Lakers next face off against the Jazz on Sunday on the road as they try and win their fourth straight game.
