The Sixers are close to adding free agent wing MarJon Beauchamp on an Exhibit 10 contract, according to Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer. The deal hasn’t been finalized, and Pompey notes the Trail Blazers are “still involved,” though it’s unclear what that means at this stage.

Beauchamp briefly signed an Exhibit 10 deal with Portland on Sept. 30 before being waived a week later. He was expected to join the Blazers’ G League affiliate, but it appears the three-year veteran prefers the Sixers’ organization instead.

The 6-foot-7 forward, who turned 25 today, was a first-round pick by the Bucks in 2022 and has since played for Milwaukee, the Clippers and Knicks. He holds career averages of 4.1 points and 1.9 rebounds in just under 11 minutes a night.

If Beauchamp completes the deal and is later waived, he’d be eligible for a bonus of up to $85,300 if he spends 60 days with the Delaware Blue Coats, Philadelphia’s G League team.

The Sixers currently have 21 players under contract, meaning they’ll need to open a spot to make the signing official.

Thunder

The Thunder have waived guard Jazian Gortman, the team announced Sunday. Gortman signed a non-guaranteed Exhibit 10 contract in September and averaged 9.8 points and 2 assists in four preseason appearances.

The 22-year-old, who went undrafted out of Overtime Elite in 2023, has bounced around the G League and spent part of last season with the Mavericks’ affiliate before earning a brief two-way deal in Dallas. If he joins the Oklahoma City Blue, he’ll be eligible for the same Exhibit 10 bonus of up to $85,300.

With Gortman waived, the Thunder sit at 20 players, or one shy of the offseason maximum.

Free Agents

A handful of players cleared waivers this weekend and are expected to stay in the G League systems of their former teams: Dexter Dennis (Kings), Terrence Hargrove Jr. and Coleman Hawkins (Nuggets), and Delon Wright (Pacers).

Each will be free to sign elsewhere, but for now, all signs point to them remaining close to their NBA clubs and awaiting a call-up when opportunities arise.
