The NBA rookie race is entering its final phase, and while the hierarchy is becoming clearer, the battle at the top remains competitive. With only a handful of games left, consistency, efficiency, and team impact are shaping the final narrative of the NBA rookie power rankings.

At the top, Kon Knueppel continues to lead, but Cooper Flagg and VJ Edgecombe are still within reach. Here’s how this week’s rankings stack up.

10. Javon Small, Memphis Grizzlies

9. Jeremiah Fears, New Orleans Pelicans

8. Derik Queen, New Orleans Pelicans

7. Cedric Coward, Memphis Grizzlies

6. Ace Bailey, Utah Jazz

5. Maxime Raynaud, Sacramento Kings

With his equally impressive performance, Maxime Raynaud has been one of the biggest late-season risers and has only recently made it to the top five of the rookie rankings. The Sacramento Kings’ big man has consistently produced on both ends, as his scoring and strong rebounding numbers were impressive.

Recent performances, including multiple 30-point games, have helped him be afloat in the highly competitive young players’ race. Additionally, for a No. 42 pick, his impact has gone well beyond expectations.

4. Dylan Harper, San Antonio Spurs

Dylan Harper continues to grow into his role with the San Antonio Spurs. His composed demeanour and ability to make the right decisions have stood out, especially in expanded minutes. A recent efficient 24-point outing highlighted his upside, and he remains a key developmental piece for San Antonio.

3. VJ Edgecombe, Philadelphia 76ers

VJ Edgecombe has taken on added responsibility for the Philadelphia 76ers. His recent scoring stretch, including multiple 30-point games, has given the Philly offense a push in the crucial minutes when needed. While his overall production and versatility are impressive, efficiency gaps keep him just behind the top two.

2. Cooper Flagg, Dallas Mavericks

Cooper Flagg has delivered a strong all-around rookie campaign for the Dallas Mavericks. Averaging over 20 points with solid contributions in rebounds and assists, Flagg’s impact is clear on both ends. However, perimeter shooting inconsistency has prevented him from overtaking the top spot.

1. Kon Knueppel, Charlotte Hornets

Kon Knueppel remains at No. 1, driven by efficiency and consistency. The Charlotte Hornets guard has excelled as an off-ball scorer while maintaining strong shooting numbers. His production, combined with team success, continues to separate him slightly from the rest of the field.

With time running out, the race is narrowing. For now, Kon Knueppel holds the edge, but Cooper Flagg remains close enough to challenge if momentum shifts.
