The Atlanta Hawks are a team that clearly had contending aspirations for the 2021-22 season after they made the Eastern Conference Finals in the 2020-21 playoffs. However, they have been far from a contender thus far. The Hawks currently sport a 17-23 record and are 12th in the Eastern Conference.

It seems as though the Atlanta Hawks' front office is willing to shake up the roster in an attempt to put a more competitive team around superstar Trae Young. A recent report by Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report related the words of an assistant GM who claimed that the Hawks have made everyone available for trade except Trae Young and center Clint Capela.

“Everyone but Trae Young and Clint Capela are available,” one assistant general manager told B/R earlier this week before the Reddish trade. The Hawks had been looking to move Solomon Hill, out for the season with a hamstring tear, in order to open a roster spot.

There was also belief among rival front offices that the Hawks would be willing to part with De'Andre Hunter to bring a significant veteran contributor to Atlanta.

There's no question that the Atlanta Hawks need to improve somehow, and perhaps a trade would be the way to do it. The Atlanta Hawks have notably been linked with Philadelphia 76ers All-Star Ben Simmons and there have been other reports connecting him with Detroit Pistons forward Jerami Grant. It definitely looks as though the Atlanta Hawks want to make a big splash on the trade market.

We'll see what the Atlanta Hawks elect to do going forward. Even if they don't make a trade, there is a chance that they could turn their season around, as they are a fairly talented squad. Hopefully, we see the Hawks move in the right direction and make the postseason once again.
