Dennis Schroder is one of the best backup point guards in the league, and he could definitely be a starter in certain situations. He is a crafty finisher near the rim and a solid perimeter defender on guards.

The last team that Dennis Schroder has suited up for is the Houston Rockets, who are currently undergoing a rebuild. Kelly Iko of The Athletic has recently reported that even though the point guard is "liked in Houston", he will likely "have a new home" next season, as there's "a real need to clear minutes" for the young players on the roster.

With regards to their own free agents, Dennis Schröder is liked in Houston, but he’s expected to have a new home for the 2022-23 season, sources told The Athletic. Schröder arrived at the February trade deadline and brought professionalism, experience and speed to a team in need, but with Daishen Nix on tap, as well as Porter, Christopher and Green, there’s a real need to clear minutes for the roster’s developing young talent. Schröder is 28, in the prime of his career, expecting to play big minutes and compete deep in the playoffs.

Dennis Schroder could definitely be a solid contributor on a contender, providing scoring off the bench and being a pest defensively. He could definitely be a solid pickup if a top-tier team needs a difference-making role player to help push them to the next level.

The Houston Rockets will likely continue to move off of veterans. They have already traded away Christian Wood, and more moves could potentially be on the horizon. Letting Dennis Schroder go would be prudent for them, as he would command a long-term contract in free agency, as well as playing time, as Iko mentions. Hopefully, Dennis Schroder is able to find a nice destination for himself, one where he feels happy with both his contract and his playing time.
