The Atlanta Hawks are moving on from Trae Young. After eight seasons with the franchise, they confirmed on Wednesday that Young has been traded to the Washington Wizards. Against the New Orleans Pelicans, the star guard was seen walking to the locker room for the final time in front of the Hawks crowd at the State Farm Arena.

This raised the question of when Hawks fans will see Young play again. Atlanta's season series against Washington isn't over. They are set to play each other two more times in the 2025-26 NBA regular season to complete their four-game season series.

According to the Hawks' schedule, they will host the Wizards twice in February for a back-to-back contest. There will be two matches: the first on February 24 and the second on February 26.

The Hawks won their last match 131-116, and the two clubs' season series is tied at 1-1.

Trae Young Trade Details

ESPN's Shams Charania reported on X that the Hawks traded Young for Corey Kispert and veteran guard CJ McCollum. Charania reported that Washington was the star guard's preferred destination.

The former Oklahoma standout has not been with the team for the past five games due to a right quad contusion. He only appeared in 10 games this season and averaged 19.3 points, 1.5 rebounds and 8.9 assists. These are his second-lowest scoring numbers since his rookie year.

With the Hawks, Young played in 493 games through eight seasons. He averaged 25.2 points, 3.5 rebounds and 9.8 assists on 35.1% shooting from deep. The 6-foot-1 guard led Atlanta to three postseason appearances, including a lone trip to the conference finals.

He became a four-time All-Star, a one-time All-NBA and a member of the 2019 All-Rookie First Team. Young is the franchise leader for 3-pointers made with 1,295.

His legacy is etched in the Hawks' history book, and fans will forever remember his contributions.
