On January 10, the San Antonio Spurs had their game against the Los Angeles Lakers postponed due to the wildires that were devastating the Los Angeles area. Two days later, the Spurs played the Lakers and lost, 126-102, although the postponed game was planned to be moved to a later date.
On Tuesday, the NBA announced when the delayed games would take place. The Spurs will travel back to Hollywood on March 17 to take on the Lakers. The only issue with that is San Antonio had a home game against the Orlando Magic scheduled for that day.
The game against the Magic has been moved to April 1. That builds a brutal stretch of games for the Spurs.
The Spurs will play two straight games on March 14 and 15 before having only a day off to prepare to take on the Lakers and then will play every other day between March 15 and April 1. On April 2, the Spurs will have another back-to-back, playing the Denver Nuggets on the road immediately after hosting the Magic.
Following those games, the Spurs will be in the home stretch of the regular season, although San Antonio will have one of the league's toughest schedules.
Starting on Feb. 3, the Spurs will have six road games in a row before returning home for only two games. After that, they will travel for four straight contests. The Rodeo Road Trip, the trip to Paris, and this new slate of games thanks to the wildfire will certainly take a toll, possibly hurting the Spurs' playoff chances.
