NBA sent 200 cease-and-desist orders to party promoters in Atlanta before ASG

No fans are allowed to attend the 2021 NBA All-Star Game in Atlanta due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. However, plenty of bars and clubs in the area are planning to host parties for the event.

With everyone's health and safety in mind, the NBA sent about 200 cease-and-desist orders to party promoters in Atlanta who have used the league's All-Star logo and event name in connection with unaffiliated events this weekend, according to Marc Stein of the New York Times:

This year's All-Star Game has been controversial due to the pandemic. Many star players, including LeBron James, have slammed the league's decision to host the event because of the coronavirus.

James said he has "zero energy" and "zero excitement" about the All-Star Game. Sacramento Kings guard De'Aaron Fox also called the decision to play an All-Star Game amid the pandemic "stupid."

Regardless of player opinions, the event is still taking place with Team LeBron taking on Team Durant on Sunday.
