The drama is deepening between Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat.
But there's comedy, too.
As fans have pointed out, Butler's teammate, Kevin Love, has been on a Hall of Fame run with the hilarious memes he's been posting on Instagram about the serious situation.
After Butler was suspended again by the Heat, the 36-year-old Love posted a famous clip from the movie "Training Day," wherein the character of Denzel Washington, Alonzo Harris, went on a tirade after feeling betrayed.
The 35-year-old Butler, who's also known to have a unique sense of humor, had the perfect response to his teammate's trolling. He posted a clip from the old comedy series "Martin," wherein the character of Martin Lawrence chided his friend for being jobless.
"Hahahahahahahahahahhahaha," commented Love, who was tagged in the post.
Other NBA stars also chimed in, with Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors posting laughing emojis and DeAndre Jordan of the Denver Nuggets posting a meme of NBA icon Michael Jordan.
Love's former teammate and current ESPN analyst Richard Jefferson also offered his opinion.
"Ok you and @kevinlove can’t both be doing this," wrote Jefferson in jest.
One would think that Love would be asked to stop by the Heat, especially with a strict overseer in team president Pat Riley, but he said he's never been told to do so. He added that his funny memes provide "levity" and a "breath of fresh air" to the complex situation.
"Guys get engaged in it and it's fun," said Love in a report from Miami Herald's Anthony Chiang. "The fan base gets engaged in it. They love it, the front office has been super cool about it, and the coaching staff finds it funny as well."
As Alonzo Harris said: "Okay, alright!"
