The Milwaukee Bucks could be one of the busiest teams in the offseason. After a disappointing end to their season, there's a chance that Giannis Antetokounmpo could force his way out and request a trade. However, that is yet to be determined by the organization.
ESPN's Shams Charania reported earlier that the Bucks are scheduled to meet with Antetokounmpo and his representatives, Giorgios Panou and Alex Saratsis. The upcoming meeting is about the potential future of the Greek Freak in Milwaukee.
On Tuesday, ESPN's Brian Windhorst talked about what Antetokounmpo's summer could look like. Windhorst said the 2021 Finals MVP's decision could impact more than just the Bucks.
According to the NBA insider, there are a lot of teams waiting on Antetokounmpo's decision this summer.
"I'm not saying that there are teams that have like halted their organization to wait for this. But for a year, I mean even at the trade deadline, there were teams who were like ‘you know what, let's just chill or let's just do this deal instead of this deal just in case we see Giannis available’,” Windhorst said.
The insider did not specify which teams are waiting on Antetokounmpo's important summer with the Bucks. However, Windhorst said that Damian Lillard's unfortunate Achilles injury led multiple teams to focus on the nine-time All-Star.
Antetokounmpo is still at the prime of his career, and franchises that can strike a deal to acquire him could transform into title contenders. Last season, he finished with 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds and 6.5 assists. It's the third straight year he averaged at least 30 points.
In the playoffs, he did his best to lead the Bucks in the best-of-seven series against the Indiana Pacers. He led the league in points per game with 33 points. He did the same in rebounding with 15.4 boards.
