The Minnesota Timberwolves have been down in the trenches for a long time now. In the last 15 years, the franchise has made it to the postseason just once. Additionally, the team's franchise player Karl-Anthony Towns has been wasting his prime years with the organizations. On that note, recently many rumors have emerged about him moving on in his career.

The Atlanta Hawks could turn out to be a great destination for the Timberwolves center. Trae Young carried the team to an Eastern Conference Finals appearance last season, and the future is looking bright for the team.

Despite that, considering the rise of super teams in the NBA, it might be time for the Hawks to hop on to that bus as well.

So here is a potential trade package that could send KAT to the Hawks:

Atlanta Hawks receive: Karl-Anthony Towns.

Minnesota Timberwolves receive: Clint Capela, Cam Reddish, Kevin Huerter, 2022 first-round pick, 2022 first-round pick from OKC (1-14 protected), 2023 first-round pick, 2023 second-round pick.

The Atlanta Hawks Become One Of The Favorites To Win The Eastern Conference

Considering how the Hawks played last season, it opened the eyes of many teams and they started to finally take Trae Young seriously. At the end of the day, other teams in the East, like the Milwaukee Bucks and the Brooklyn Nets, simply have more firepower than the Hawks.

Adding Towns to the current team will resolve this issue for them. With Young, Bogdanovic, and Collins already on the roster, the Hawks will become a contender for not only the ECF title but also the 2022 NBA championship.

One cannot forget Bogdanovic's contribution to the Hawks' run last year in the postseason. He is an elite shooter and with Towns adding to the mix, he will have more space out wide to operate.

The 1-2 punch between Young and Towns sounds extremely dangerous on paper. The only concern for the team will be defense. Despite being a big man, Towns is not an elite defender.

Minnesota Timberwolves Rebuild Around Anthony Edwards

If Towns is gone from the team, Edwards will have more responsibility on his shoulders. He has already proved his talents in his rookie season. After all, he was the first overall pick in the draft. Along with Edwards, the franchise also has D'Angelo Russell on the roster.

So if they want to 100% focus on rebuilding the team, they might trade Russell as well. The picks they will get from this potential trade will make a huge impact on the organization's future, especially the OKC pick.

They will also get Clint Capela who, to be honest, is very underrated. He played a crucial role in the Hawks' 2021 playoff run last season and got himself a decent contract.

Although this potential trade sounds very promising on paper, the reality could be completely different. If this trade goes down, one thing is certain: Both teams will be in a much better situation than what they currently have on their hands.
