In Houston, in the aftermath of James Harden's departure, the Rockets are enduring a complete and total rebuild. With much of the emphasis leaning towards Kevin Porter Jr., Christian Wood, and Jalen Green, guys like John Wall have been left in the dust.

After being traded to Houston in 2020, Wall only played 40 games for the team before he was effectively shut down, with the team preferring to give his minutes to their young talent instead.

Now, reports indicate that Wall is generating some interest on the trade market and might actually land with a new team provided an interested party is willing to take on his contract.

Teams are expressing interest in Rockets guard John Wall should he become free on the market, sources say, but a trade or buyout remains unlikely. Wall has a whopping $91.7 million remaining on his contract through next season. He is currently not playing for Houston after the sides discussed in late November about him potentially playing.

Wall, 31, is in the 11th season of his career, and has yet to play a single game since October.

After five consecutive All-Star appearances as a Wizard, Wall suffered a series of brutal injuries that sidelined him for a significant chunk of time.

He returned to play in a Rockets jersey before James Harden was shipped out of town and he proved useful for a while before he was eventually benched. Over 40 games during the 2020-21 campaign, he averaged 20.6 points, 6.9 assists, and 3.2 rebounds per game on 40% shooting.

As for what comes next, that much remains to be seen. As Wall seeks a return to the court, a number of teams can profit from his talents, including many that have a shot to make a long playoff run.

in the meantime, we'll continue to monitor the situation and gauge when (and where) his next game might be played.
