Basketball Hall of Famer Reggie Miller landed a new job this week amid rumors about his status with TNT following his absence from a broadcast earlier in the week.
Miller signed an extension with TNT just over a year ago that was expected to keep him with the company "for years to come."
“I’ve been lucky enough to have two constants in my adult life: 18 years with the Indiana Pacers and 19+ years with TNT Sports,” Miller said in a statement at the time. “Excited to be back and proud to be part of this amazing TEAM, let’s keep chasing history together.”
Well, that contract - and subsequent announcement - didn't last very long. On Tuesday morning NBC announced Miller as the lead game analyst for its coverage beginning with the 2025-26 season when the NBA returns to NBC and debuts on Peacock this October.
“It’s good to be HOME, NBC Sports...and hello, Peacock! Some of my most memorable moments have been on NBC and I’m looking forward to creating more,” Miller said in an announcement on Tuesday.
NBC Sports Executive Producer Sam Flood raved about his new analyst.
“Having provided so many memorable moments on NBC during his playing days, it’s only fitting that Reggie will join our team as the NBA returns to NBC and debuts on Peacock," he said. "As basketball fans know, not only was Reggie one of the game’s greatest shooters and clutch performers, but he was also one of its most entertaining players with a unique combination of skill and swagger. He has successfully brought those traits to his broadcasting career and consistently provides viewers with in-depth analysis while pulling no punches.”
