Caris LeVert enters free agency this summer and may seek a new opportunity. A LeVert and Nets reunion is possible as Brooklyn reshapes its young roster. LeVert spent five seasons with the franchise before being traded. His veteran presence and scoring could complement Brooklyn’s developing backcourt.

Nets Could Pursue Reunion With Dynamic Wing

Today, the Nets and forwards Ziaire Williams and Day’Ron Sharpe agreed on a two-year contract. While this helped solidify their frontcourt, Brooklyn still faces tough roster decisions despite drafting multiple guards this year. Some rookies will join the main roster; others will report to the Nets’ G League affiliate for development. Even with promising additions, the team has no plans to pursue star players during this offseason. One underrated option: a LeVert and Nets reunion that could add experience and versatility to Brooklyn’s backcourt.

LeVert previously spent five seasons with the Nets before the blockbuster trade that sent him to Indiana in the James Harden deal. Now 30 years old, he enters his 10th NBA season with playoff experience and a reputation as a dependable veteran guard. Last season with Cleveland and Atlanta, he contributed 12.1 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game. If Brooklyn re-signs Cam Thomas, LeVert could complement him by providing steady support as a backup guard and mentoring younger teammates through pressure moments.

A Fit In Brooklyn

The Nets currently have no players over the age of 30 on their roster. This youth-heavy lineup reflects the organization’s rebuild. In today’s NBA, veteran leadership matters. Young teams often struggle with consistency and composure during tough stretches. Brooklyn finished 12th in the East last season with a disappointing 26–56 record. Throughout the year, they traded veteran players, brought back former teammates, and allowed several others to seek buyouts. Despite the chaos, loyal fans consistently filled Barclays Center, turning some home games into sellouts and hoping for the best.

LeVert and Nets Reunion

A LeVert and Nets reunion could provide the stability this young team needs. LeVert brings veteran experience and familiarity with the franchise’s system and expectations. He spent five seasons in Brooklyn and thrived at Barclays before being traded in the James Harden deal. His time alongside stars like Kevin Durant and Donovan Mitchell shaped his poise in high-pressure moments. LeVert also supplies transition scoring and off-the-bench production, two things the Nets desperately lack. If the team re-signs Cam Thomas, LeVert could complement him as a reliable, proven reserve.

Brooklyn will monitor this evening’s free agency closely and evaluate the chance to re-sign Thomas, their breakout scorer. Thomas averaged 24.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 3.8 assists last season despite being limited to 25 games by injury. He remains a restricted free agent after Brooklyn extended a qualifying offer, giving them the right to match any deal. Thomas has expressed interest in staying and wants to keep building with teammates and fans in Brooklyn.

Meanwhile, LeVert prepares to enter free agency and could explore a potential return to his former team. A LeVert and Nets reunion offers veteran leadership, lineup versatility, and transition offense, elements that Brooklyn lacked throughout last season. As both players hit the market, the Nets must decide whether to prioritize proven experience or continued youth development. With the league’s largest cap space available, Brooklyn has the flexibility to shape the roster around both long-term and short-term impact.
