Nets-Lakers showdown highlights Christmas Day NBA schedule

Traditionally, the NBA had dominated television ratings on Christmas Day as it pertains to sports content via a slate of games occurring throughout the afternoon and evening hours. However, the NFL crushed the Association last December and will likely do so again later this year.

Thus, the NBA is giving fans quite the main event this Dec. 25.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported Tuesday that the superstars of the Brooklyn Nets and Los Angeles Lakers will face each other in the featured game of the NBA's Christmas Day schedule. Additionally, Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks will take on the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden, where Young became a hated figure and also went viral for multiple reasons this spring.

The Dallas Mavericks will travel to play against the Utah Jazz in the NBA's Christmas nightcap.

As for the NFL, quarterback Baker Mayfield and the Cleveland Browns will spend Christmas at Lambeau Field playing against the Green Bay Packers. In primetime, the Arizona Cardinals will host the Indianapolis Colts.
