The have been rumors galore ever since Irving opted in to his $37 million player option with the Nets in late June and Durant requested a trade at the end of the month. On Monday, it was reported that Brooklyn was prioritizing completing a Durant trade, as talks surrounding Irving were "frozen."
While "KD" is undoubtedly one of the premier superstars in the game today, some teams have reportedly been hesitant to deal for the 12-time All-Star due to the remaining four years on his contract. Durant will turn 34 in September and hasn't played over 55 games in a season since the 2018-2019 campaign.
In Irving's case, over the last two weeks it's seemed that only the Los Angeles Lakers have had potential interest in trading for "Uncle Drew," who hasn't suited for 55 games in a regular season in three years as well.
