Since defeating the San Antonio Spurs on Jan. 20 to improve to 29-16, the Brooklyn Nets have been one of the worst teams in the NBA, having lost 12 of their last 14 games. They've dropped down all the way to eighth in the Eastern Conference standings, and there's still no estimated return date for Kevin Durant from his knee injury.
With Kyrie Irving still unvaccinated and unable to play in home games, and the recently-acquired Ben Simmons still yet to make his 2021-2022 season debut, the Nets are short-handed at the point guard position. According to NBA correspondent Marc Stein, there is one particular veteran guard that the team may be eyeing to bring in for the home stretch of the campaign.
Nets coach Steve Nash has delivered key pieces of the team's pitch to darling of the buyout market Goran Dragic, league sources say.

Hours before the NBA's trade deadline, Dragic was traded along with a draft pick from the Toronto Raptors to the Spurs in exchange for Thaddeus Young, Drew Eubanks and a draft pick. The Spurs then reached a contract buyout agreement with the lefty last Tuesday.
Dragic is in his 14th season in the league, but he has been limited to just five games thus far and has not played since November due to personal reasons.
The 35-year-old has posted career averages of 13.9 points, 4.8 assists, 3.1 rebounds and 27.9 minutes per game over 872 career regular-season contests. Dragic -- who was an All-Star in 2018 -- has a career .462/.364/.767 shooting line and has played for the Phoenix Suns, Houston Rockets, Miami Heat and Toronto Raptors.
