New Lakers Assistant Coach John Lucas III Jokes That LeBron James Will Have To Run "Extra Laps" For Dunking Over Him In A Game

LeBron James has always been known as a high-flyer. Since the dawn of his career, he has made a habit out of embarrassing his competition, often putting them on the wrong side of mixtapes and highlight reels.

Never in a million years did he think it would come back to bite him.

Back in 2012, James and the Miami Heat were playing against a tough and rowdy Bulls team. In the first quarter, with Miami up 6 over their competitors, James made another one of those signature plays, putting John Lucas III underneath him in a ridiculous and amazing dunk that quickly became a candidate for the best moment of the year.

That was 10 years ago.

But now, John Lucas III and LeBron have reunited again, this time as a player/coach.

As the newest member of the Lakers' coaching staff, Lucas took to Instagram to laugh about the craziness of coaching LeBron, joking that he'll get his revenge against the King by making him run some extra laps in practice.

It's honestly a pretty funny situation, but also kind of insane.

The fact that LeBron James is still a star in this league, almost 10 years after his 28th birthday, is rather ridiculous. He's been going at it so long, in fact, that the guy is being coached by some of the very players he used to play against.

That's some serious longevity, and a reminder of why, at 36-years-old, people still remain hesitant to bet against him.

This upcoming season, it's unlikely we'll see the same high-flying dunks he performed every game in Miami, but he's found plenty of other ways to dominate his opponents.
