Stephen A. Smith is making headlines these days for beefing with LeBron James, and around about this time last year, he was doing so for clashing with an NBA team. Smith drew the ire of the New Orleans Pelicans in February 2024 for making some disrespectful comments about Zion Williamson.
Smith had fired a wild shot at Williamson, which the Pelicans took offense to. They initially responded by posting the infamous graphic of his averaging 1.5 points per game in college. As if that wasn't bad enough, the Pelicans then released a hilarious lowlight reel of Smith a day later, which unsurprisingly went viral.
With Smith now coming under fire from the basketball world for this beef with James, the Pelicans felt the time was right to bring up the video again.
"Good day to bump this."

That was brutal. The lowlight reel included Smith failing at various sports, with his infamous rant on Kwame Brown playing in the background.
Smith is almost certainly going to respond to this shot, as he did last year. He roasted the Pelicans for never winning, and with them having a 20-53 record in 2024-25, you know he's likely going there again.
As for Smith's beef with James, it doesn't look like it is going to end anytime soon. Smith called James petty and butthurt in his latest rant , and it's clear that all that the Los Angeles Lakers star has said and done has upset him deeply.
