New potential suitor emerges for Warriors' Jonathan Kuminga

The Golden State Warriors have yet to add more firepower to their roster.

They've been quiet this offseason, and while they've been linked to Al Horford for weeks now, their standstill with Jonathan Kuminga has halted all plans.

Fortunately for them, that might finally change. According to NBA insider Jake Fischer, the Phoenix Suns are now looking to kick the tires on a trade for the former G-League standout.

“Sources say Phoenix, meanwhile, is the latest team to express exploratory interest in a Kuminga sign-and-trade, as challenging as it would be for the Suns to make such a deal happen," Fisher reported.

The Suns just bought out Bradley Beal, opening up the door for them to add Kuminga after stretching Beal's big contract.

"Fresh off completing a buyout of Bradley Beal this week, enabling the Suns to waive-and-stretch the hefty contract possessed by the three-time NBA All-Star guard, they have contacted both Kuminga's representation and the Warriors to make their fondness for the bouncy swingman known," added the report.

The Warriors are reportedly still on the fence about whether to keep Kuminga, but they can't afford to let him walk away and not get anything in return.

That's why they're keeping salary cap space open to be able to match any offer he gets and complete a sign-and-trade.

The framework of any deal with Phoenix would be interesting, but with the Warriors reportedly turning down an offer from the Sacramento Kings centered around  Devin Carter, Dario Saric and two second-round picks, the Suns will have to get creative.
