The Phoenix Suns are in quite an interesting position as a franchise.
After making the NBA Finals, the Suns deteriorated their roster in favor of adding Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal alongside Devin Booker -- their franchise superstar.
The experiment was certainly a failure, as Phoenix regressed each season with Durant on the roster, and they traded him to the Houston Rockets this offseason after a 36-46 season.
While Booker is in his prime years of his career, the team is now having to retool its roster around the guard.
After having added Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks and Mark Williams, along with Khaman Maluach in the NBA Draft, the Suns have a newfound core.
Sure, it might not be title-contending worthy, but it's a better spot than they were in this past season.
Now, all eyes are on Phoenix and Beal as an offseason decision between the two sides is nearing.
In an ideal world, the Suns would trade Beal. His no-trade clause and high salary make it nearly impossible, though.
Instead, the club and Beal are working towards a buyout that will keep the Suns under the second apron.
Suns insider John Gambadoro, who is as plugged in as any other reporter, shared that a decision could be made within the next two days.
"I expect a decision and resolution on Bradley Beal’s situation in the next 24-48 hours," Gambadoro shared on X.

The Suns will likely stretch Beal's contract out over a period of time to fix the short-term impact on roster moves. However, this could come with long-term implications, as Phoenix could be paying salary to Beal for five years while he isn't playing on the team.
The Suns backed themselves into a corner when they added Beal alongside Booker and Durant. At the time, it seemed as if it would be a strong move.
Simply put, things didn't work out in The Valley.
After trading Durant for less value than they dealt to land him, the Suns are now taking a second-straight loss on roster moves, as the Beal saga will be coming to an end.
Phoenix, at minimum, moves into a new era and puts the blunder of roster decisions behind them.
