The Boston Celtics have already checked off their biggest priority this offseason by trading Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis to get under the NBA's second tax apron. However, they may not be done dealing. For all the players who could be traded away, The Athletic's Jay King reported on Friday that there's one player Boston plans to keep.
"Speculation has surrounded Sam Hauser’s future because it likely wouldn’t be difficult to find a taker for his four-year, $45 million contract, ... but the Celtics are said to be more focused on avenues that would allow them to hold onto Hauser, who has proven himself as a valuable rotation piece and one of the NBA’s best shooters," King wrote.
King also confirmed the Celtics' desire to keep Al Horford and Luke Kornet this offseason, which hypothetically could lead to trading Hauser's contract to make room to re-sign them without crossing the NBA's second tax apron.
However, as King wrote, that doesn't appear to be the case. If that's not enough, Jake Fischer reported that there haven't been any rumbles about a potential Hauser trade while explaining why Boston wouldn't trade him.
"I haven't heard any credible buzz about Sam Hauser's inclusion in serious trade conversations," Fischer wrote.

Fischer added, "The interest would surely be there given Hauser's perimeter prowess and the value contract he holds over the next four years, but the Celtics have largely achieved their financial goals by moving Holiday and Porziņģis. They don't have to trade Hauser."
If Hauser's not up for grabs, but the Celtics want to save money, the most obvious trade candidates would be their newest non-rookie players: Anfernee Simons and Georges Niang.
