It’s unclear when Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James will retire, but with his 41st birthday coming in the middle of next season, it’s evident he only has a few years left. Many have wondered what his future might look like once his playing career ends.
Could he move into broadcasting? Michael McCarthy of Front Office Sports suggested James could end up with Amazon Prime Video as part of its upcoming NBA coverage.
"Where there’s smoke, there’s fire between LeBron James and Amazon," McCarthy said. "The growing business relationship between the basketball superstar and the nation’s largest retailer could lead to King James eventually joining Prime Video’s upcoming coverage of the NBA."
Meanwhile, the same question goes for Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry, who will turn 38 years old next season.
On Thursday, McCarthy reported, "Amazon Prime Video is poised to announce the hiring of Dell Curry as an analyst for its growing NBA coverage team."
Dell Curry is the father of Steph Curry, and with the hiring, it puts Amazon in "pole position to recruit" the NBA leader in three pointers when he retires.

The hiring of the elder Curry puts Amazon in pole position to recruit one of the NBA’s biggest stars, his son Steph, when he retires.
James and Curry have faced off in the playoffs several times, with four of those matchups coming in the NBA finals and one in the second round. Curry holds the edge, winning four of the five series.
For years, it seemed like they’d only ever be rivals on the court. But in 2024, the Warriors made a serious trade offer to the Lakers for James.
While Los Angeles chose not to explore the deal, the two stars still became teammates — just not in the NBA. They joined forces on Team USA at the 2024 Paris Olympics and went on to win a gold medal together.
Now, with two new reports from McCarthy, there’s a chance they could end up as teammates once again.
