Phoenix Suns fans received a glimmer of insight into Bradley Beal’s future with the team as new General Manager Brian Gregory addressed the media on Tuesday.

Speaking at a press conference, Gregory shared a positive update on his relationship with the 31-year-old shooting guard, hinting at Beal’s potential role in the Suns’ upcoming season.

“I have a very, very good relationship with [Beal],” Gregory stated, revealing that the two recently shared a “great dinner” where they discussed summer plans and more.

This personal connection suggests a commitment to keeping Beal in the fold as the Suns navigate a pivotal offseason. Gregory’s focus, however, remains on finding the right head coach to maximize Beal’s contributions alongside the team’s core.

Beal, who joined the Suns in a blockbuster trade in the summer of 2023 after leaving the Washington Wizards, has faced challenges with injuries, notably missing significant time in the 2024-2025 season.

Despite averaging 17.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game, his limited availability, coupled with the team’s first-round playoff sweep in 2024 and a disappointing 36-46 record this year, has fueled speculation about his future.

Some fans and analysts have called for a roster shakeup, pointing to Beal’s hefty contract and the Suns’ need to get under the second tax apron.

Yet, Gregory’s comments signal optimism. By prioritizing a coach who can unlock Beal’s potential, the new GM appears intent on building around the veteran guard, aiming to restore the Suns’ competitive edge in the Western Conference.
