The New York Knicks appear to be the favorites in the Eastern Conference for the 2025-26 NBA season.
New York is coming off a season where they made it to the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 2000, before being eliminated by the Indiana Pacers.
However, going into this season the Knicks likely won’t have to worry about the Pacers again since Tyrese Haliburton is out for the season with a torn ACL.
The Boston Celtics, who the Knicks beat in the second round of the playoffs, will be without Jayson Tatum for the year as well.
The Knicks have built a championship-caliber roster to this point and they might not be done adding players.
The Knicks have had an impressive offseason to date, making the right moves around the edges.
They hired their new head coach Mike Brown, while signing Jordan Clarkson, Guerschon Yabusele, Landry Shamet and Malcolm Brogdon.
The Knicks might not be done there as they have their sights set on two former Los Angeles Lakers players Alex Len and Trey Jemison III.
New York is looking to add both of them for training camp, which begins on September 24.
Good stuff from Bondy, who notes that Alex Len and Trey Jemison III are among other NBA players the Knicks are looking at bringing to training camp. https://t.co/oWWC15Meoy

Alex Len was signed by the LA Lakers as a free agent after he was cut by the Sacramento Kings at the start of 2025.
Len was totally ineffective for for Lakers and was heavily criticized, with Lakers fans unhappy with his performances.
Reggie Miller even blasted him, saying the Lakers should have picked up Dwight Howard instead.
Coach JJ Redick appeared unimpressed too, leaving Len out of the action in the playoffs.
The Knicks are considered a true title contender.
With other teams like the Cleveland Cavaliers, Orlando Magic and even Atlanta Hawks threatening, the Knicks appear to be the team to beat in the East.
The Knicks seek their first NBA Finals appearance since 1999 and first NBA Championship since 1973.
It’s been a long wait for Knicks fans, but when looking at their roster and the state of the East, this could be the year where things finally go their way.
