New York Knicks Have Clear Stance on Kevin Durant Trade

Either way, the Knicks’ current top priority is to find a new head coach after they fired Tom Thibodeau after their playoff exit in a shocking decision.

While New York continues to search for a new coach, they have recently emerged as a potential landing spot for one of the offseason’s biggest headlines in Kevin Durant.

Of course, the Phoenix Suns are expected to move on from Durant this summer and according to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the Knicks are one of five teams that have the most interest in acquiring the future Hall of Famer.

Despite Charania’s report, Knicks insider Stefan Bondy recently released his own report and it seems New York has a clear stance on possibly targeting Durant this summer.

According to Bondy, the Knicks are not in the mix for Durant.

This is a surprising report by Bondy, especially after Charania’s report which named the Knicks as a trade suitor for the Suns star though it not shocking that the Knicks are not interested in adding the aging star.

New York has built a contender with their core of Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns, OG Anunoby and Mikal Bridges and with this report, it looks as though they are going to run it back with that core next season.

Despite this, the Knicks could still end up getting back into the mix for Durant, or possibly another star player this summer, as they try to make another deep playoff run next season.
