Jordan Clarkson signs with the New York Knicks

Utah Jazz veteran Jordan Clarkson recently arranged a contract buyout with the organization after spending nearly six seasons with them.

According to Shams Charania of ESPN, once Clarkson clears, he will join the Knicks on a veteran’s minimum deal for the 2025-26 NBA season.

“Jordan Clarkson is expected to sign with the New York Knicks after he clears free agency waivers, sources told Shams Charania,” ESPN reported.

“Sources had said earlier Monday that Clarkson was finalizing a contract buyout with the Utah Jazz that would make the veteran guard an unrestricted free agent,” the report added.

Clarkson averaged 16.2 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game for the Jazz last season. Being a former NBA Sixth Man of the Year winner, Clarkson will likely come off the bench for the Knicks.

Clarkson’s production will likely help in resting star guard Jalen Brunson, who put up 26.0 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 7.3 assists per game for the Knicks last season.

How much will Jordan Clarkson make with the New York Knicks?

Despite being 33 years old, Clarkson is still an elite scorer and can lead the bench well for the Knicks. But it’s reportedly been confirmed that the former Jazz guard will be on a veteran’s minimum deal with the team.

So, how much will the Knicks exactly pay for the services of the talented guard? Well, he is expected to make $3.63 million for the 2025-26 season.

Here’s a breakdown of the NBA’s veteran minimum deals for players:

Years of NBA experience Salary for season
0 $1,272,870
1 $2,048,494
2 $2,296,274
3 $2,378,870
4 $2,461,463
5 $2,667,947
6 $2,874,436
7 $3,080,921
8 $3,287,409
9 $3,303,774
10+ $3,634,153

Since Clarkson has 11 years of NBA experience under his belt, he falls under the $3.63 million bracket, and that’s what he’ll make with the Knicks.
