New York Knicks: Josh Hart Impresses as New York Knicks Beat Philadelphia 76ers
Wendell Cruz-USA TODAY Sports

While the New York Knicks played fantastic basketball this season, only a few outside of the fanbase had any genuine expectations with the Knicks making a deep playoff run. Jalen Brunson isn’t considered by many to be a superstar despite his fantastic game this season.

Due to this, Knicks fans are making sure that everyone knows they’re felt whenever they get the chance. Their ferocious chants toward Trae Young show the lengths Knicks fans could go to during this year’s playoff run.

The team started their first-round series against the Philadelphia 76ers with a win, which got fans excited. One particular player had an outstanding game against the Sixers, and Knicks fans hope he’ll be playing at this level throughout the playoffs.

New York Knicks fans celebrated Josh Hart’s Game 1 heroics vs Sixers

Hart has been a solid role player for the Knicks in the one-and-a-half seasons he has been with the franchise. As the season came to an end, his shooting has picked, turning him into one of the more reliable players for the Knicks.

Hart’s outing in Game 1 against the Sixers sees Hart reaching his peak form at the right time. He finished the game with 22 points, 13 rebounds, two assists, and a steal. He shot 5-of-12 on the floor and sank four of his eight attempts from deep.

Fans were impressed with what he was doing and couldn’t stop singing his praises on social media.

Per The Spun’s Daniel Bates:

“Josh Hart came up clutch for New York: Scored 13 of his 22 points in the fourth quarter,” SportsCenter reported.

“JOSH HART YOU BEAUTIFUL [EXPLETIVE],” said The Ringer’s Sean Fennessey.

“Classic Josh Hart game. 12 rebounds, 10+ hustle plays, good D and 2 huge no no no no YES threes,” Bill Simmons replied.

“INJECT IT INTO MY VEINS. TATTOO IT ON MY EYELIDS. KEEP THE HIGHLIGHT ON REPEAT. JOSH HART FOR THREE. BANG.”

“Josh Hart. The ultimate warrior!” a Knicks fan commented.

Hart has been a reliable playoff performer. Last year, he averaged 10.4 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 2.2 assists on an efficient 47.9% from the floor. His hustle to make the play is an asset to the Knicks against the Sixers and the rest of the possible opponents they’ll face in the postseason.

While this performance is an outlier for Hart, fans hope that there’s more of these performances to come from him and the rest of the Knicks for the rest of their playoff run.
