From here on out, depth often decides whether or not a team gets a good seeding in the NBA Playoffs. Squads who have secured a playoff berth or are close to it often rest their players which means that they need to fill in the gaps on their roster. Who did the New York Knicks get to fix their outside shot needs? It's none other than a Texas Longhorns alum.

P.J. Tucker and the Knicks have reportedly agreed on a deal which keeps him in New York. The veteran spot-up shooter is  signing a two-year deal with the squad, per Shams Charania of ESPN. Their agreement also includes a team option for the 2025-26 season.

Notably, the Texas basketball alum was on a 10-day contract with the Knicks. He has only played one game with them so far and was only fielded for two minutes against the San Antonio Spurs during their March 20 game. Now, more opportunities are surely the veteran's way.

However, Tucker's signs of aging have been very apparent in the past three seasons. From 2023 up to the present, he has only played a total of 32 games. During his time with the Philadelphia 76ers up to his new contract with the Knicks, the ex-Texas player only ever got to see the court four times.

Clearly, the Knicks are in need of a veteran presence in the locker room and that very well may be the reason for this move. Will Tucker be able to make a big impact for this team as the NBA Playoffs near?
