New York Knicks Offer Brutal Updates on Jalen Brunson, OG Anunoby
Wendell Cruz-USA TODAY Sports

The New York Knicks injury report is reaching ridiculous lengths after they watched two more key players, Jalen Brunson and OG Anunoby, suffer injuries in Game 2 against the Indiana Pacers. Already without Julius Randle, Bojan Bogdanovic and Mitchell Robinson, a discouraging update on their two starters was shared.

According to Ian Begley of SNY.tv, Jalen Brunson is being listed as questionable because of left foot soreness. He was injured in the first quarter of Game 2 and went to the locker room, where he stayed for the remainder of the half.

He returned to the court with four minutes left in halftime, using that time to warm up and see how he felt. Clearance was given for him to play, but it was clear that his foot was giving him some issues.

Despite that, he still played an integral part in the team taking a 2-0 lead in the series with a dominant second half. He scored 24 out of his 29 points in the third and fourth quarters, as his return sparked his teammates and the fans into a frenzy.

Unfortunately for the New York Knicks, they weren’t able to escape the injury bug. With about four minutes remaining in the third quarter, OG Anunoby was streaking to the basket on a breakaway and looked like he blew a tire.

He came up grabbing his hamstring and had to exit the game. Soon after, he was announced out for the remainder of the game and his availability going forward is up in the air. According to Begley, he has already been ruled out for Game 3 on Friday night.

OG Anunoby was having an incredible game before the injury, as he scored 28 points in 28 minutes to help keep the team afloat while Jalen Brunson was in the locker room. Without him, they are even more short-handed at the forward spots.

Precious Achiuwa or Miles McBride will be taking his spot in the starting lineup, as both filled in admirably during Anunoby’s absence in the regular season. His outlook for the remainder of the series is unknown, but being ruled out more than 24 hours in advance of tip-off is never an encouraging sign.
