New York Knicks' Trade Target List Addresses Major Needs

The New York Knicks’ season is still alive although they are just one loss away from being eliminated in the Eastern Conference Finals by the Indiana Pacers.

New York struggled to begin the series, losing both games at home before picking up a crucial victory in Game 3 on the road.

Indiana was then able to pick up a victory in Game 4 and they can close out the series and advance to the NBA Finals with a victory in Game 5 on Thursday night.

For the Knicks, they need a historic comeback to keep their championship hopes alive but either way, they need to make some upgrades to their roster in the offseason to remain title contenders next season.

Of course, the Knicks’ core of Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns, Josh Hart, Mikal Bridges and OG Anunoby had a great season but their bench struggled due to a lack of depth.

With this in mind, Bleacher Report’s Greg Swartz recently named the Knicks’ top three dream offseason trade targets.

Keon Ellis of the Sacramento Kings headlined Swartz’s list along with Julian Champagnie of the San Antonio Spurs and Keyonte George of the Utah Jazz.

For Ellis, he would be a great addition to the Knicks as he would be able to give them a great defender off the bench as well as be a key young piece of their future.

Despite this, the Kings may not want to move on from him as he is currently their point guard of the future after trading De’Aaron Fox.

Champagnie would also be a great addition for New York as he would give them a solid three-point shooter off the bench and he has also improved defensively.

For George, he would be a great scorer in the Knicks’ second unit but he does struggle with turnovers and it is likely Utah will not move on from him this summer.

While all of these players would be solid additions for the Knicks, they could look elsewhere to upgrade their depth before next season.
