New Yorkers guess NBA teams based on their logos, results are hilarious
Chuck Cook-USA TODAY Sports

The Brooklyn Nets took a page out of the Tennessee Titans’ playbook and did something unique with their 2023-24 schedule reveal. It involves New Yorkers guessing NBA team names based on logos … which did not go well.

Brooklyn’s social media team hit the pavement and asked for people to guess the NBA team names based on logos. The results to some of these — actually all of them — are priceless.

After you watch the video, we have a big question to ask …

The question? Which name did you like best: Where an axe murder is keeping all his stuff in the close (Denver Nuggets), Insurance (Atlanta Hawks), The Brooklyn Bridge in a basketball (Golden State Warriors)? Or did another one pop out to you?

Several NBA teams put out schedule releases in really unique ways. It’s one of the good parts of social media. But this video from the Nets probably takes the cake.

Appropriately, they gave a shoutout to the Titans, who originated the idea during the NFL‘s schedule release. That received so much attention that it felt appropriate to shift it to the NBA.

Hopefully we see more of this type of humor in sports. It seems to be something everyone loves, whether they’re fans of the NBA or not.
