Nic Claxton Made A Bold Claim About The Brooklyn Nets' Roster
Stephen Lew-USA TODAY Sports

Nic Claxton is feeling good about the Brooklyn Nets' roster this season.

The Brooklyn Nets are 9-1 in their last 10 games, and the team is currently purring along at an elite level. The Nets boast of quite a bit of star power, but the players around them have started to pick up the slack as well. The team has some great shooters and a bunch of players hungry to prove themselves, which is always a good recipe for success.

Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and Ben Simmons are already established as stars in this league, complementing one another and making the Nets a menace on both ends of the floor. But it's the players around them that are contributing massively as well.

Royce O'Neale, Joe Harris, and Seth Curry are great shooters, while O'Neale is a great defender to boot. Nic Claxton has been a revelation for the franchise as well, scoring nearly 12 points per game and grabbing over 10 rebounds every game. And after the Nets beat the Pelicans, Claxton spoke about the group in the locker room and expressed his belief that they have what it takes on the team to go all the way.

“We have everything we need,” Claxton replied when asked if he hoped his play will silence talk of Brooklyn needing to add another big. “When everybody on the court is locked in and we’re all scrambling, playing hard we have enough length to where it gives bigger guys fits….So, we good with everything we got in the locker room and we just got to keep building.”

If the Nets can continue to avoid any drama and play the way they have, it's hard to see any team beating them during the playoffs easily. While this is quite a confident take from Claxton, not everyone believes in the Nets' group wholeheartedly.

Shannon Sharpe Questioned Whether Brooklyn's Winning Streak Is Thanks To As An Easy Schedule

The Nets have won most of their previous games, but they haven't beaten the best teams in the league in the process. And Shannon Sharpe said as much, pointing out that a lot of their teams have come against bad teams.

"Pretenders. They're not beating the Bucks, the Celtics, not sure they can beat the Sixers, healthy Joel Embiid and James Harden, Maxey is going to come back at some point in time.

"Of those eight wins that have come since Nov. 27, only one of those wins have come against a team with a winning record, that was the (Portland) Trail Blazers without Damian Lillard.

The Nets are likely unbothered by what people like Sharpe have to say, the team seems intent on playing basketball and doing their talking on the court. Kevin Durant recently opened up on some of the more serious topics surrounding this season and this team, but what matters now is that this fit of players is working for the Nets.
