Following a small road trip to close out the week, Philadelphia 76ers head coach Nick Nurse attended the Delaware Blue Coats’ matchup against the Greensboro Swarm on Saturday night.

Donning Paul Reed’s signature “Out the Mud” hoodie, Nurse sat courtside to watch the Sixers’ developmental squad in action. Heading into the night, the Blue Coats were on a two-game win streak.

They extended the streak to three games by taking down the Swarm with a 123-113 victory at the Chase Fieldhouse. All three of the Sixers’ two-way prospects were involved in the victory.

Ricky Council, who got the start at center, checked in for 35 minutes. During that time, Council accounted for 21 points, five rebounds, and one assist.

Javonte Smart checked in with the starting five, cracking nearly 36 minutes on the floor. He shot an efficient 9-14 from the field, making four of his nine attempted threes. He wrapped up the game with 24 points, and nearly collected a triple-double with eight rebounds and eight assists in addition.

The rookie Terquavion Smith checked in off the bench for 22 minutes. Typically one to take a high volume of shots, he attempted just 11 field goals during his shift. Knocking down five shots, with two coming from beyond the arc, Smith produced 12 points, along with two rebounds and two assists.

The Sixers’ developmental prospects put on a solid display for the 76ers’ head coach, who returned from a two-game road trip, which didn’t go the Sixers’ way this week. When the 76ers paid a visit to the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday, a Joel Embiid-less squad got off to a slow start they struggled to recover from.

When the Sixers paid a visit to the Boston Celtics on Friday, they lost a handful of players beforehand, including three starters in Tyrese Maxey, Nic Batum, and Embiid. Although the Sixers put up a great fight against Boston, they couldn’t close out the matchup with a win.

Both the Sixers and the Blue Coats will get a handful of days off before their next outings. Next Wednesday, the Sixers will hit the road to take on the Washington Wizards. That same night, the Blue Coats will face the Maine Celtics, searching for their sixth win of the young year.
