The Denver Nuggets have been one of the best teams in the Western Conference this season and they once again look like they are going to be a major threat to compete for a championship.
Denver currently sits fourth in the West standings with a 32-19 record. After a poor start to the season, they have completely turned things around, including winning four consecutive games.
Of course, their superstar center Nikola Jokić has led the way for Denver this season. Jokić once again finds himself in the MVP race and he is arguably putting together the best season of his already incredible NBA career.
This season, the 29-year-old is averaging 29.7 points, 12.8 rebounds, 10.3 assists and 1.8 steals per game while shooting 57.0% from the field and 46.1% from three-point range. With these numbers, he is once again a frontrunner to win his fourth MVP award this season, and he has also led the Nuggets to a solid season thus far.
While the Nuggets have had a solid season, they have struggled at time and Jokić gave his thoughts about their improvements after Wednesday night’s victory over the New Orleans Pelicans.
“Maybe, I don't know,” Jokić said when he was asked about if the Nuggets have improved since the start of the season. “To be honest I don't know of any stats and analytic stuff. I don't follow any of that.”

It is no surprise that Jokić gave this answer, but Denver has shown improvements throughout the season. The Nuggets began the season 11-10, but since then they have won 21 of their last 30 games.
While Jokić has been a huge part of their turnaround, so has the rest of the roster. Jamal Murray has finally broken out of his shooting slump and Aaron Gordon has finally returned healthy after missing multiple stints this season with a hamstring injury. Russell Westbrook, Christian Braun and Michael Porter Jr. have also had great seasons.
With the Nuggets’ roster turning things around, they have continued to close in on the Houston Rockets for the third seed in the West and it is clear that they are going to be championship contenders once again.
