If you needed more proof that the 2025-26 Chicago Bulls are not the same mediocre team anymore, look no further than last night’s win over the Philadelphia 76ers.
What essentially amounted to a battle for first place in the East, with both teams coming in at 5-1 on the year, turned briefly into a laugher in favor of the 76ers.
But these are not the Bulls of old. They stormed all the way back to snatch a win and move into sole possession of the number one seed. Nikola Vucevic and Josh Giddey reacted after the game.

At one point, the Bulls trailed the 76ers by 24 points, which is certainly (obviously) not insurmountable, but it’s a huge deficit to even attempt to overcome. Even heading into the fourth quarter, the Bulls trailed by 11 after trailing by 19 at the half.
But halftime adjustments really helped. The Bulls snatched a win from the jaws of defeat with a Nikola Vucevic game-winning three.
Vucevic was proud of his team for battling back, but the veteran big man was not happy with the performance.
“It shows the resilience we have, the belief we have, the togetherness we have,” Vucevic said, via Cody Westerlund of 670 The Score.”
Nikola Vucevic on Bulls' rally to beat 76ers: "It shows the resilience we have, the belief we have, the togetherness we have.
"It's also important we understand that this is not how you become a good team, by getting down 20 and then waking up and starting to finally play."

As for falling down in the first place, that’s what left Vucevic unhappy.
“It’s also important we understand that this is not how you become a good team, by getting down 20 and then waking up and starting to finally play,” he said.
Vucevic is obviously the star with the game-winning shot, but he also recorded a 19-point double-double.
Josh Giddey, who has been incredible to start the season, added a triple-double with 29 points, 12 assists, and 15 rebounds. His season stat line is up to an impressive 23.1 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 9.1 assists.
Giddey was proud of the Bulls’ effort to make a comeback over a top team in the conference.
“Tonight was one of the best wins I’ve ever been a part of,” Giddey said.
Giddey, a former member of the Oklahoma City Thunder, has seen plenty of wins in his NBA career. This one takes the cake. That’s saying something considering he hit a half-court heave to win the game last season against the Los Angeles Lakers.
