Former NBA player Jeff Teague gets honest about Stephen Curry’s ranking on the all-time point guards list.

Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry has had a phenomenal impact on the modern era of the NBA, thanks to his insane three-point shooting ability.

During the process, the Baby-Faced Assassin has won four NBA Championships among various other accolades.

Of course, Curry has entered all-time debates, but most still rank LA Lakers legend Magic Johnson over him, at least as far as point guard debates are concerned.

Jeff Teague ranks Steph Curry ahead of Magic Johnson, makes ‘no disrespect’ statement

Former NBA player Jeff Teague recently discussed the all-time NBA rankings of Curry and Johnson on an episode of the Club 520 podcast.

During the discussion, Teague surprisingly picked Steph ahead of Magic, albeit making a ‘no disrespect’ admission.

“I’m taking Steph over Magic Johnson. I know Magic saved the league, him and Larry Bird saved the NBA — I get it. So there’s no disrespect.

“Magic made it cool to be a big point guard. But Steph saved everybody. Steph is the best PG of all time, Teague said.

A few years ago, Magic was viewed as the consensus best PG of all time. However, since Steph has won the 2022 NBA Championship alongside his first NBA Finals MVP, many have started to rank Curry over Johnson.

While the debate will always be there, Magic once shut down the comparison with a brilliant answer.

Jeff Teague addresses Magic Johnson and Steph Curry’s position on Bleacher Report’s top 100

Adding to his point, Teague then addressed Bleacher Report’s latest top 100 NBA players of all time rankings.

On the list, Curry secured the 10th spot while Johnson finished fourth on the list. Teague then claimed that their positions should be swapped. Why? Well, he gave a unique reason.

“What he did at 6’3″, bro. The thing about Magic Johnson was, he was gonna be able to play anyway because he’s 6’9″. [He] could’ve played center,” Teague continued.

Teague’s panel then pointed out that if Curry and Johnson played against each other, Magic would have been able to guard Steph, but the other way around is not possible.

To which, Teague responded: “No. No. No. Have you ever seen Magic Johnson move? He had no chance in hell guarding Steph Curry.”

It’s a huge statement by Teague and is bound to make many NBA fans angry.
