Luka Doncic’s body transformation appears to be complete.

The Los Angeles Lakers superstar Doncic is now down to the same weight range that he was when he was a rookie, Tim MacMahon of ESPN reported this week. While Doncic is not quite all the way down to his listed first-year weight of 218 pounds, he is now reportedly about as lean as he was back then.

“I do think Luka’s as lean as he’s been since his rookie year,” said MacMahon. “Luka, I think, was listed 218 his rookie year, probably was legitimately like 230-ish, and he looks like he’s in about that range now.”

Doncic, 27, is entering his ninth season in the NBA after first being drafted back in 2018. He is still officially listed at 230 pounds but has made a concerted effort to improve his conditioning ever since last offseason.

The reigning NBA scoring champion Doncic was widely criticized over his weight for much of his career, including on his way out the door when the Dallas Mavericks traded him to the Lakers in 2025. But Doncic became a viral sensation for his impressive weight loss last summer and even appeared on the cover of Men’s Health magazine.

Doncic had a banner year for the Lakers last season with 33.5 points per game but was still in the range of 240 pounds and eventually had to sit out of the entire playoffs with a hamstring injury. Now Doncic has apparently dropped even further weight and is ready to carry the torch in L.A. during the post-LeBron James era.
