Myles Turner left the Indiana Pacers for the Milwaukee Bucks, and it appears the feelings between him and the fans are quite sour.
Myles Turner has had what can only be described as a whirlwind month. After playing in the NBA Finals with the Indiana Pacers, fans were almost certain the big man would re-sign with the team.
However, in the biggest shocker of NBA free agency, Turner signed with the Milwaukee Bucks, the Pacers’ biggest rivals, who waived Damian Lillard to land him.
The Pacers lost Myles Turner over a $4 million negotiation blunder. What makes this sting even more is the fact that Turner joined their heated rivals.
Doc Rivers believes Turner is a perfect fit for the Bucks. Given the star’s brilliant range from deep, he will solve a huge spacing issue for Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Turner himself believes he fits great with Giannis. It’s clear the center is excited about playing with the Bucks. But this excitement might be tied to some resentment he holds towards Pacer fans.
Myles Turner was in attendance for the Milwaukee Bucks’ NBA Summer League game against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
During an NBA TV interview, Turner suggested the Indiana Pacers’ fan base wanted him off the team. And now that they got their wish, they are regretting it and complaining about him leaving.
“I don’t know what to expect, I really don’t. I think it’s gonna be half-and-half. Even my time there (Indiana), there were a lot of people who wanted me to be off the team, and now they got what they wanted, and now they’re complaining still.”
Clearly, there are some sour feelings between Turner and the Pacers fanbase. His frustration is coming from a place of anger, after years of fans dismissing him.
In the last year or so, the fanbase came to appreciate Turner. But it appears it may have been too little, too late for the big man.
Now on the Bucks, Turner has the chance to cause their fanbase a lot of pain by handing them losses at the hands of their biggest rivals.

The signing of Myles Turner was undoubtedly a coup. While they did act slightly dubiously in the way they treated Damian Lillard, there is no doubt that the Bucks landed a strong star.
But the Bucks aren’t quite ready to compete for an NBA championship just yet. After losing Lillard, the Bucks’ backcourt depth is quite weak. Milwaukee is going to target Cole Anthony. But there are other targets as well.
To address their depth, the Bucks are reportedly trying to sign Chris Paul and Russell Westbrook. The two veteran guards are available for cheap this offseason.
With his imminent buyout, the Bucks might want to target Bradley Beal as well. Whatever the case may be, the Bucks cannot be complacent in their hunt for a new guard.
Depth at the guard position is crucial for any team in the NBA to compete for an NBA championship, so they must make some big moves.
