The Denver Nuggets have been one of the busiest teams in the NBA this offseason as they have made multiple moves since free agency began on Monday.
Denver’s first move was a surprising one as they sent Michael Porter Jr. and a 2032 first-round pick to the Brooklyn Nets for Cameron Johnson after being reluctant to trade Porter Jr. in years prior.
They then signed both Bruce Brown and Tim Hardaway Jr. in free agency and pulled off a trade with the Sacramento Kings that landed them Jonas Valanciunas in exchange for Dario Saric.
With these moves, it is clear that the Nuggets are trying to retool their roster around their core of Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon to chase another championship next season.
Of course, the Nuggets will enter next season with a new head coach as David Adelman had the interim tag removed this summer after replacing Michael Malone at the end of the regular season after Denver fired him.
Now Adelman will enter his first full season as an NBA head coach after spending multiple seasons as one of Malone’s top assistants.
On Thursday, Adleman added a 14-year NBA veteran and champion with the Los Angeles Lakers to his coaching staff as one of his top assistants.
According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the Nuggets are finalizing a deal to hire Dallas Mavericks assistant Jared Dudley to become the top assistant coach for Adelman.

This is a massive move by the Nuggets as they were able to pry away Dudley from Dallas, where he has been an assistant since 2021.
Of course, Dudley spent 14 seasons as a player in the NBA before transitioning to the coaching world.
During his playing career, he played for seven different teams and was part of the Lakers squad that won the championship in 2020.
Now Dudley will head to Denver to join Adleman’s coaching staff as the franchise tries to compete for another championship next season.
