Nikola Jokic has continued to be the driving force behind the Denver Nuggets and their success. The Nuggets are 13–5 despite dealing with injuries to several key players, and Jokic’s brilliance has kept them near the top of the Western Conference standings.

What makes Jokic so dominant is the rare combination of skills he brings to the floor. He is an elite passer, scorer and rebounder with exceptional basketball IQ.

At nearly seven feet tall, the 30-year-old veteran runs the offense with the vision of a point guard, creating shots for teammates while punishing defenses inside. His versatility, efficiency and consistency make him one of the NBA’s most unstoppable players.

Through his first 18 games, Jokic has averaged 29.1 points, 12.6 rebounds, 11.0 assists and 1.6 steals while shooting 62.8% from the field and 44.0% from three-point range. He remains an early frontrunner to capture another MVP award.

Jokic has appeared in all 18 games so far this season, yet he is in danger of missing his first. Ahead of Saturday’s game against the Phoenix Suns, the Nuggets announced that Jokic had been placed on the injury report. He received a questionable designation due to a left wrist injury, leaving his status uncertain before tipoff.

This marks the second time Jokic has officially appeared on the injury report with a wrist issue. Earlier in November he was listed but managed to play through the discomfort without missing time. Whether this latest setback will keep him sidelined remains unclear.

Given Denver’s ceiling is directly tied to Jokic’s health, the team will need to be cautious in managing his workload. His importance to the organization cannot be overstated, especially with the Nuggets eyeing another deep playoff run.

Jokic has already proven he can carry Denver the distance, doing so in 2023 when he led the franchise to its first championship and earned Finals MVP honors. His accomplishments speak for themselves as he has seven All-Star selections, seven All-NBA team honors and three MVP awards.

With his continued dominance, Jokic is building a legacy that places him firmly on the path to the Hall of Fame. For Denver, everything begins and ends with their superstar center, and his presence will define how far they can go this season.
