Bruce Brown is heading back to where he won it all. The veteran guard has agreed to a one-year deal with the Nuggets, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.

The contract will be for the veteran minimum, reports The Athletic’s Sam Amick.

Brown, 27, spent the last two seasons with the Indiana Pacers, Toronto Raptors and New Orleans Pelicans, averaging 8.3 points and 4.0 rebounds in 41 games before a right knee injury sidelined him for the remainder of the year. He was traded twice during the 2023–24 campaign and never quite found a consistent role after leaving Denver.

Now he returns to the team where he made his biggest impact. Brown played a key role off the bench during the Nuggets’ 2023 championship run, providing energy, defense, and timely scoring. He averaged 12.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.1 steals during the playoffs that year and was widely praised for his versatility and toughness.

Following that title, Brown left for a short-term, high-dollar offer from the Pacers. His stints in Indiana, Toronto and New Orleans didn’t replicate the same success.

Denver, meanwhile, is reshaping its roster around its core of Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray. On Monday, the Nuggets agreed to trade that sends Michael Porter Jr. and a first-round pick to Brooklyn for forward Cameron Johnson — a signal that the front office is going all-in on maximizing its current window.

Brown’s return adds a familiar piece to the puzzle, and one the Nuggets know they can count on in high-leverage moments.
