Nuggets expected to explore changes around Nikola Jokic

The Nuggets may be headed for a busy offseason.

According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, Denver is expected to listen to trade inquiries on virtually every player not named Nikola Jokic as the organization searches for ways to maximize its championship window.

The report comes after another disappointing playoff exit for the Nuggets, who were bounced in the first round by the Timberwolves despite entering the postseason with high expectations.

Looking back at the season, ESPN’s Zach Kram noted that one of Denver’s biggest successes was the emergence of Jamal Murray as an All-Star and All-NBA performer.

Murray averaged a career-best 25.4 points per game and earned his first All-Star selection, giving Jokic the first All-Star teammate of his Nuggets career.

However, that regular-season success didn’t fully translate to the playoffs. Murray struggled against Minnesota, shooting just 36 percent from the field as Denver suffered an early exit.

Now attention turns to the roster around Jokic.

The three-time MVP remains one of the league’s premier players, but Denver has failed to reach the Western Conference finals in each of the past three postseasons.

As a result, league observers expect the Nuggets to examine a variety of options this summer in an effort to strengthen the roster around their franchise cornerstone.

Whether those changes ultimately prove minor or significant remains to be seen.

But all signs point to Denver exploring ways to get more help for Jokic heading into 2026-27.
